Welcome to our PLC Pathways newsletter

Term 1 and the school holidays were very busy for our Pathways students. We are constantly amazed at what our girls and boys achieve in such a short amount of time. They immerse themselves in school life, take advantage of all that’s on offer here in Australia and make solid friendships. We see their English language flourish and we are proud to offer such a wide range of educational opportunities for the students to undertake.

Some wonderful and encouraging milestones have been reached in Term 1,  especially with the noticeable growth of the students and the formation of a sense of family amongst both girls and boys through the school holiday program.

We hope you enjoy this edition of our Pathways Newsletter.

Students’ journey

Safely arrived from home countries to home in Australia!

Term 1 started in an interesting way due to COVID-19. We are really grateful that all of
our students arrived safely and healthily from their home countries. The students have
been showing great cooperation and resilience managing the changes and precautionary measurements the College put in place.

At the end of their 2 weeks quarantine period, a mask-burning ceremony was held with
the help of our Science teacher to mark the special moment for our International
students and their friends at school.

Activities before lockdown

Being in a regional area, our Pathways students are fortunate to have the opportunity to do activities that they may not be able to do in big cities. A lot of our students have stepped out of their comfort zone, tried new things and started amazing adventures.

  • Trips to Scots Head, Bathurst and surrounding areas
  • Horse riding
  • Taekwondo
  • Archery
  • Camping
  • Learning new instruments, such as violin, cello, piano, clarinet, singing, drums and guitar

An extraordinary school holidays

To provide safe accommodation for our International students who were not able to return to their home countries, the College decided to open the boarding house during the school holidays.

A fun and relaxing program was designed for the students to gain unique experiences through various activities. With social distancing being put in place, the students got to do crafting, honey extracting, science experiments, netball training, yoga, taekwondo, photography…etc as well as academic support, to give them a meaningful and enjoyable school break.

Enrolment Applications

PLC Pathways is still accepting enrolment applications from Term 3 2020 onwards. We are looking at alternative arrangements for delivering lessons to assist overseas students to commence their learning on time before coming to Australia. Please contact our enrolment office for more details.
