2021 Term 4 Week 1 Lion’s Roar

Looking back at Term 3, it was definitely challenging for the International girls learning online without the usual body language and interactuations, but it also provided an opportunity for them to digest the lessons and process the information before the next one. Although the girls coped with the new routine well and used their time doing activities together, the school holiday break has certainly given them some much needed rest from intense learning. Due to a shorter holiday period and the uncertainty of restrictions, the International girls stayed in the boarding house throughout the holidays. They used their time to sleep, enjoy meal preparation moments (usually once a day for something between lunch and dinner), and relax in their home. We are fortunate to have staff who are willing to come for shifts in the boarding house to ensure continuous care is provided to the girls. We are so grateful for the support and kindness from staff who reached out to us offering their time and energy for the girls. I personally am really thankful to the girls for behaving so well that these two weeks have proved uneventful. Term 4 comes with some restrictions but the girls are looking forward to resume face-to-face learning and to meet with their friends whom they missed. Our online Segue program will also continue with some adjustments. Mrs Eastment will be supporting the students while they engage in the Year 10 English class. Mrs Sennett and Mr Davidson will be providing lessons in other subject areas, preparing them for mainstream schooling in 2022.
